If you follow us on social media you may have noticed quite a few of our recent posts have been from Sheringham. This delightful seaside town just a few minutes’ drive from Duck Cottage is our temporary home for a few months whilst we have renovation work done on our own home in Aylsham. When all the work is complete and we move back to Aylsham, the garden flat here in Sheringham will also be available for holiday rental so watch this space!

Winter is such a wonderful time to visit Duck Cottage, especially if you love quiet beaches, cosy pubs, countryside walks, or wandering around the lovely shops in Holt and stopping off for a hot chocolate (or something stronger) at one of the many pit stops!

For those of you who love nature and wildlife, there are many locations in the area which are perfect for bird spotting. North Norfolk welcomes some really special birds during the winter such as Pink Footed Geese, over a third of the world’s population spend the winter in Norfolk!
